Male Infertility Evaluation and Testing

Posted February 19th, 2019

For couples struggling with fertility, a male factor cause is found in approximately 30% of couples, with a male factor “contribution” in up to 50%. When a couple initially presents for evaluation of infertility, it is routine for the male partner to provide a semen analysis. If this is abnormal, it is essential for the male partner to meet with a urologist specializing in male infertility, not only to ensure that the couple has all options available to them to proceed forward in the most effective and cost-efficient manner possible, but also to ensure that the abnormal semen analysis is not a sign of a more serious disease.

How do I know if UroLift System for BPH treatment is right for me?

Posted January 23rd, 2019

If you’re a man over 50 and have started having problems urinating, the reason could be an enlarged prostate, or BPH. As men get older, their prostate keeps growing. As it grows, it squeezes the urethra. Since urine travels from the bladder through the urethra, the pressure from the enlarged prostate may affect bladder control.

Women Incontinence

Millions of women experience involuntary loss of urine called urinary incontinence (UI). Some women may lose a few drops of urine while running or coughing. Others may feel a strong, sudden urge to urinate just before losing a large amount of urine. Many women experience both symptoms. UI can be slightly bothersome or totally debilitating. For some women, the risk of public embarrassment keeps them from enjoying many activities with their family and friends. Urine loss can also occur during sexual activity and cause tremendous emotional distress.
